F430 Scuderia successor rumoured to be unveiled in September

While we are still recovering from the news of a 949bhp capable LaFerrari hybrid supercar, a more practical stripped down 458 may make its debut soon.

Naturally, the 458 MC will be lighter than the standard model by utilising exotic compound materials and slightly stripped down interior for a dry weight below 1.3 tonne

Additionally the 458 MC could take a few elements from the 458 Challenge race cars besides a few innovations learnt from the LaFerrari development.

The already creamy seven-speed dual-clutch transmission could be further enhanced with new gear ratios. Other mechanical upgrades include beefier brakes, a stiffer suspension setup and tyres that stick to the tarmac.

The powertrain of the 458 MC could feature a power boost to approximately 600bhp from 562bhp thanks to forged connection rods, remapped ECU, tweaked exhaust and a redline increased from 9,000rpm to 9,300rpm. Additionally the 458 MC could boast active carbon fibre winglets on the rear diffuser for additional downforce.

Following the F360 Challenge Stradale and F430 Scuderia, a hotter track focused 458 Italia may make its debut in September at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. It could retain the Scuderia or Challenge Stradale nameplate or as previously reported - could be christened the Monte Carlo (MC).
