Ferrari will build 800 units of its radical FF four-seater, four-wheel-drive supercar, and according to Ferrari's CEO Luca di Montezemolo at the Geneva Motor Show, "We have already sold all 800 Ferrari FFs planned to be produced in 2011."
The FF is powered by a 6.3-litre V12 engine that produces 660bhp and 683Nm of torque, and mated to a double-clutch transmission, the 1790kg FF is able to go from 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 335km/h.
Lamborghini too have sold their first year allocation of the Aventador supercar, which, like the FF, was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The Aventador has a 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 700bhp and 690Nm of torque, and together with its seven-speed transmission, the Aventador can go from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 350km/h.
The Aventador is part of Lamborghini's plans to extend its reach into more global markets with new products, and the quick response has been encouraging to the Italian firm. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini underscores: "We confirmed our long term strategy, which calls for stable and significant investments in new products even in difficult times. We see a slow but steady recovery of the market, and we will benefit from this. The extraordinary response to the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is the best proof that our vision is right."
