Fiat has launched a new Doblo alongside the all-electric E-Doblo.
The van and people carrier comes following the Citroen e-Berlingo and Peugeot e-Rifter, all of which sit under the same Stellantis EMP2 platform. There's thus a shared 134bhp electric motor powering all the commercial vehicles, alongside a 50kWh battery that's good for a 280km WLTP range.
This power allows the Fiat E-Doblo to boast an 800kg payload, alongside space for two euro-pallets. Versions of the Fiat Doblo powered by internal combustion engine meanwhile, can reach up to one ton of load capacity.
Speaking of which, a total of three engine options are available for the Fiat Doblo. Two 1.5-litre diesel engine options will produce either 99bhp or 128bhp, while a 108bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine will also be available.
Fiat states that close attention was given to the vehicle's comfort during the design phase, in consideration of the needs of professionals who will use their vehicle for eight hours or more a day. The vehicles are said to offer a stress-free work experience with sound insulation and suspension designed to reduce bumps and vibrations, which does not take us by surprise, given the quiet and resolved drive the e-Berlingo offered when we drove it.
Passenger versions of the Fiat Doblo will come equipped with automatic traffic signal recognition, as well as an active safety brake system, Lane Keeping Assist, and a Driver Attention Alert system.
