The first retail production 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V has gone under the hammer at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction, raising close to a total of $702,000 (U.S.$500,000) for the Pensole Lewis College of Business and Design (PLC) in the U.S.A.
This sum will be supplemented by an additional $35,000, said to be donated by a patron, which raises the grand total donation to a sum of $737,000. The full hammer price for the Escalade-V VIN 001 will go PLC as Barrett-Jackson waived all fees and commissions as they historically have done with all charity cars at their auctions.
PLC offers students the opportunity to grow their knowledge and skills through intensive curriculums aimed at providing real-life experiences relevant to their disciplines, and is said to be able to lower the barrier to entry for all students interested in receiving an education, as corporate collaborators, like Cadillac, fund masterclasses, tuition and housing for students.
The winning bidder will have the opportunity to design a pair of custom sneakers with footwear designer Dr. Edwards which will be manufactured as a one-of-one run, and will also receive an exclusive signed and framed design-studio theme sketch of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V by Robert Hunwick, the lead exterior designer for the Escalade-V.
