More electric vehicle chargers are headed to our HDB carparks.
The LTA has announced that the first batch of electric vehicle charging points under its large-scale tender are now operational. These six charging points are in two public carparks located in Telok Blangah and Boon Lay, respectively operated by ChargEco and Charge+. The Charge+ chargers located at 212A Boon Lay Place are 7.4kW chargers, priced at $0.5238/kWh (price as of 27 February 2023).
The LTA tender covers nearly 2,000 HDB carparks and 12,000 charging points, of which more than 2,000, in more than 700 carparks, are targeted for deployment by the end of 2023. The total 12,000 charging points are scheduled to come online by 2025, to meet the growing demand for charging as Singapore's electric vehicle population continues to grow.
Electric car registrations formed 11.8% of all new car registrations in 2022. And Singapore now has more than 6,500 registered electric cars, and close to 10,000 EVs when including electric vehicles of other vehicle classes.
