Four adults and a two-year old girl were conveyed to hospital after more than a dozen vehicles were involved in a pile-up on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). The accident occurred around 2:30pm yesterday on the PIE towards Changi Airport, after Paya Lebar Road.
The pile-up caused a jam lasting three hours and a tailback up to 8km long, with much of the traffic coming to a standstill, reported The Sunday Times.
Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene where two men and two women were conveyed to Changi General Hospital while the toddler was taken to KK Women's and Children's Hospital, reported the English weekly.
According to a spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), all five were transported in a conscious state to both hospitals.
It is unclear what caused the accident, but police investigations are ongoing.
