Ford reveals cutting-edge flagship SUV

Ford has unveiled the third model for its SUV lineup called the Edge. Besides its sheer dimensions, the flagship five-seater SUV will pack a host of cutting-edge technologies, which earns it its moniker.
The all new Edge features a charismatic exterior design, with the prominent chrome grille, the thin and chiselled front LED headlamps, and the three-dimensional blade shape rear LED tail lamps. The pronounced wheel openings house 20-inch alloy wheels.
Material and visual quality were also a focal point during development. Throughout the vehicle, the design has been executed in a way that reduces visual cut lines.
The all new Edge will offer Adaptive Steering technology, which claims to heighten the driving fun and maintain easy-to-drive characteristics, thanks to the variable steering ratio which optimises the steering response in all conditions.
At the same time, the Edge will debut Ford's Adaptive Noise Cancellation system in Europe and Front Split View Camera technology.
The Active Noise Cancellation system employs three microphones in the cabin and generates opposing sound waves directed through the audio system that enhance the overall engine sound and cabin ambience.
With the help of a 180-degree camera system located at the front of the vehicle, the Front Split View Camera technology makes for easier manoeuvring of the vehicle in difficult junctions or parking spaces with restricted visibility. The Edge also features specially designed ducts along the side of the vehicle that create an 'air curtain', improving aerodynamics at speed.
