Stamford Tyres has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GIIB Rubber for a new collaboration that aims to promote environmental sustainability initiatives and enhance circular-economy practices for truck and bus tyres in Singapore.
The agreement effectively creates a framework for GIIB to supply Stamford Tyres with advanced sustainable retreading materials, including recycled rubber compounds and environmentally responsible tread liners for their retreading operations.
The partnership will see Stamford Tyres and GIIB collaborate on a two-year timeline across three main areas, as both parties work to enhance circular economy practices within the tyre industry
The MoU will see both parties collaborate across three main areas across two years, with the first being the in the area of supply and integration.
GIIB’s role in the partnership will see it provide certified environmentally sustainable rubber products, including compounds manufactured from recycled tyres and eco-friendly tread liners engineered for high-performance retreads. Stamford Tyres, on the other hand, will then incorporate these sustainable products throughout its supply chain, retreading processes, and distribution networks.
The agreement also sees the two companies committing to joint innovation, which encompasses the collaborative development of new sustainable materials. Additionally, Stamford Tyres and GIIB are hope to exchange systematic knowledge, which should ultimately enhance product performance and sustainability outcomes within a structured research and development framework.
Finally, both parties hope to jointly promote their environmental partnership at industry events and trade exhibitions to increase sector awareness and drive wider adoption of circular-economy practices in the tyre industry.
