Taiwanese multinational electronics manufacturer Hon Hai Technology Group (better known as Foxconn), has revealed its intention to break into the electric car market with two new concepts, the Model C recreational vehicle, and the Model E flagship sedan.
The Model C electric SUV is built on Foxconn's electric vehicle open platform, said to maximise seating space from reducing the area needed for mechanical components. Seating for up to seven is offered, with a 4,640mm long body and a wheelbase of 2,860mm, making the Model C easy to navigate through crowded metro areas while still offering the luxury of a larger car.

The second electric car, the Model E, was jointly developed by Foxconn and Italian design firm Pininfarina.
The all-electric luxury flagship sedan is said to have rear seating that allows the car to transform into a dedicated mobile office, with seamless connectivity to personal mobile devices. A series of smart applications such as face recognition door opening and smart windows also feature on the Model E.
A power output of 740bhp will allow the Model E to accelerate to 100km/h from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds. Range for the Model E meanwhile, stands at 750km.
