Goodwood Revival to run exclusively on sustainable fuel

Goodwood has announced that the 2024 Goodwood Revival is set to exclusively use sustainable fuel.

The event already champions second-hand sustainability and this new announcement is said to be a further extension of its 'Revive and Thrive' ethos, ensuring the future of classic combustion engine cars with the use of sustainable fuel.

The event will require competitors to use a fuel which has a minimum of 70% advanced sustainable components, in accordance with the FIA's current requirements for sustainable fuel. Goodwood states that no modification will be required of the cars competing and that the new fuel will not see a compromise on vehicle performance.

Goodwood Revival has already hosted its first sustainably-fuelled race, with a grid of pre-1966 Porsche 911s all competing in the Fordwater Trophy. The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed also saw a Bentley Bentayga EWB setting an unofficial record for the hill climb while powered by a renewable straw-based fuel.
