GWM ORA 5 previewed in Singapore; WEY and Haval make debut

Always adored the retro-inspired, rounded styling of Great Wall Motor's (GWM) ORA Good Cat 03, but wanted something higher-riding, and with just slightly more presence? You're in luck.
ORA Singapore has pulled the covers off the GWM ORA 5 at the 2026 Singapore Motor Show, giving shoppers at Suntec City (ORA's booth is located on the Level 1 atrium) an exclusive first look at what will be the first electric crossover in the ORA family here. Interestingly, this marks the first time that the ORA 5 has been brought out for show outside of its home market of China.
GWM's ORA 5 will mark the sub-brand's first foray into the extremely competitive compact electric SUV segment
It shouldn't take more than a passing glance to mark the ORA 5 out as the larger sibling to the ORA Good Cat 03. A lot of the design cues are similar - from the bulbous sheet metal, those rounded head lamps, and even the alien-looking curved tail light bar that’s perched quite high on the tailgate. One notable visual difference, however, is the treatment of the car’s lower front end; there’s a more pronounced bumper on the ORA 5, compared to the smoothened out surface on the Good Cat 03.
What may be masked by those distinct aesthetic idiosyncrasies, however, is the fact that the ORA 5 is actually quite a bit larger.
To refresh your memory slightly, the Good Cat 03 has an overall length of 4,235mm, stands 1,596mm tall, and has a 2,650mm wheelbase. Riding on 18-inch wheels, the ORA 5, on the other hand, stretches out at a significantly longer 4,471mm and has a 2,720mm wheelbase.
With its wheelbase of 2,715mm, the 5 promises more space and perhaps better ride comfort than the Good Cat 03
These dimensions mean that the 5 will dive straight into the already-crowded compact electric SUV segment. In doing so, it also promises to offer more space (and thus practicality) than the Good Cat 03.
But space is not the only area in which the ORA 5 promises advancements.
Its interior, for starters, will offer upgrades in technology, with a larger 14.6-inch floating infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument display jointly running on the third-generation Coffee OS. (GWM has called this its own 'intelligent cockpit system'.)
The ORA 5 is also expected to be powered by a 58kWh battery that gives it a commendable WLTP-rated range of over 400km. And here's some extra good news: While upsizing everything buyers love about the Good Cat, it will still duck under the power ceiling for a Category A COE.
Cycle & Carriage Singapore has shared that further details regarding pricing, trims, and specifications will be revealed closer to the car's official market launch.
Keen on proving its commitment to its "All Scenarios, All Powertrains, All Users" philosophy, however, it's not just the ORA 5 that GWM brought out for display at the Level 1 atrium of Suntec City.
Haval and WEY also celebrated their Singapore debuts on the opening day of the 2026 Singapore Motorshow, with the V7 SUV and plug-in hybrid G9 MPV respectively
Helping to mark the local debuts of its Haval and WEY sub-brands respectively were the Haval V7, described as a "rugged SUV for adventurous rides", as well as the WEY G9, a plug-in hybrid premium MPV.
GWM has teased that Singaporeans can potentially expect Haval to arrive towards the end of 2026 (the brand already has a presence in Malaysia and Thailand).
But don't be surprised to see WEY making landfall in the future too (especially given the growing spotlight on luxury MPVs); the brand is already planning to expand into right-hand drive regional markets including Australia and Malaysia.
