At the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon, which will be held from 9 to 11 January 2026, Honda has announced that it will showcase a couple of concept models as well as racing machines.
The event will see the world premiere of the Civic Type R HRC Concept, developed by Honda's global racing arm: Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), as well as the world premiere of the Prelude HRC Concept, which builds on the 2025 Prelude with HRC parts.
As well as that, the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon will also see yet another world premiere from Honda, with the Civic e:HEV RS Prototype making its appearance. This model is basically a sportier grade of the Civic e:HEV (RS trim) and will also be only the second model, after the all-new Prelude, to come with the new Honda S+ Shift control technology.
The Honda booth exhibit will also include the Honda HRC Prelude-GT, an all-new GT500 machine which is scheduled to compete in the Super GT 2026 Series, as well as a racing simulator dedicated to e-motorsports, developed using the actual NSX-GT, which competed in the Super GT Series until the 2019 season.
