The covers have been pulled off Toyota Gazoo Racing's latest creation: The Morizo RR special edition of the GR Yaris model, with an under-development prototype showcased at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon.
This model was created as part of a collaboration by Toyota Motor Corporation and Master Driver Akio Toyoda (aka Morizo) by applying insights gained through the challenge of competing as Toyota Gazoo Rookie Racing (TGRR) in the 2025 Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race.
The GR Yaris Morizo RR features exterior enhancements such as a carbon-fibre rear wing and carbon-fibre hood
Benefitting from the powerful downforce generated by an exclusive rear wing, the suspension setup has been optimised to achieve damping forces that allow the tyres to firmly follow even highly uneven road surfaces. The result is performance that allows for stress-free everyday driving while maintaining sporty driving performance, with control of the electric power steering system also having been modified accordingly.
It also features an exclusive 4WD control mode, where a "Morizo" mode replaces the "Gravel" mode of the base vehicle. The "Morizo" mode sets front/rear initial torque and driving force distribution at 50:50.
As an exclusive GR Yaris Morizo RR performance aerodynamic part, the model features a carbon-fibre rear wing developed through competing in the Nurburgring 24 Hours. Other exterior enhancements are found in the form of a front spoiler, side skirts, and a carbon-fibre hood. Its exterior colour is a GR Yaris Morizo RR-exclusive and Morizo-favored "Gravel Khaki", with its radiator grille sporting a "Piano Black" finish and its wheels done in "Matt Bronze".
Exclusive interior features include the suede-surfaced steering wheel and an exclusive serial-number plate with a "Morizo RR" logo
Inside, the interior stitching sports Morizo's signature "Yellow", while its suede-surfaced steering wheel - another exclusive feature - has been given enhancements such as modified paddle shifters and steering-wheel-mounted switches. In addition, it also has an exclusive serial-number plate with a "Morizo RR" logo.
The GR Yaris Morizo RR will be available for the Japanese market in a limited run of 100 units via a purchasing lottery, with applications accepted via TGR's official smartphone application, GR app, from Q2 2026 onwards. This special edition model is also set to be released in certain European markets in a similarly limited run of 100 units.
