Hyundai announces executive appointments for 2026

Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) has announced executive appointments for 2026 to accelerate its transformation into a software-driven mobility group and strengthen its leadership in core technology and R&D.
These appointments highlight strategic promotions of proven experts with specialised expertise across key business areas who have contributed to mitigating global uncertainties.
Manfred Harrer, previously Executive Vice President of Vehicle Development, has been promoted to President and Head of R&D Division at HMG, effective 1 January 2026. Jung Juncheul, previously Head of Manufacturing Area at HMG, has been promoted to President, effective 1 January 2026. Choil Il Yeong has been promoted to Executive Vice President and has also been appointed as Head of Domestic Production and Chief Safety Officer, effective 1 January 2026.
Further key appointments include Yoon Seung Kyu, promoted to President of Kia North America; Lee Bo-Ryong, promoted to President and CEO of Hyundai Steel; and Seo Gang Hyun, appointed as Head of Corporate Planning Office at HMG.
In total, 219 executives have been promoted across HMG, including four Presidents, 14 Executive Vice Presidents, 25 Senior Vice Presidents, and 176 new Vice Presidents.
