The new Azera/Grandeur will have a choice of two naturally-aspirated engines, both of which will have direct-injection technology. The base model will have a 2.4-litre GDI four-cylinder petrol engine that is also used in the Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima/Magentis.
The other engine is a 3.0-litre GDI V6 that produces 270bhp. Hyundai claims that the 2.4-litre model returns a fuel consumption figure of 12.8km per litre, and the 3.0-litre V6 returns 11.6km per litre. Hyundai also hinted that the Azera might get an official launch at the New York Motor Show in April next year.
