Idle fees to be introduced at all Shell Recharge chargers
26 Aug 2025|420 views
Starting from 1 September 2025, all Shell Recharge chargers - excluding those at HDB car parks and condominiums - will introduce idle fees to deter hogging and reduce waiting times for EV drivers.
Shell believes that this will promotes considerate charging behaviour, enhance charger availability, and improve the overall experience for all EV drivers. The idle fee starts at $0.50 per minute and is capped at $40.
Shell has also said that grace periods will be offered, with up to 15 minutes at Shell stations and 30 minutes at all other chargers excluding those at Shell stations, HDB car parks, and condominiums. The grace period will commence once the charging stops, and once it's over, the idle fee charges will then kick in.
