Apparently the British firm couldn't ignore requests from its own country, and has since decided to build 10 more right-hand drive units.
The 'ultimate road-going XK' will be priced at £135,000 (S$260,000) at current exchange rates with first deliveries scheduled for October.
The car is powered by Jaguar's proven 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, boasting 542bhp and 680Nm of torque, driving through a six-speed transmission and active electronic differential. This results in a 3.9 second century dash before climbing to an electronically limited top speed of 300km/h.
A range of bespoke carbon fibre components, including an extended front splitter, dive-planes and elevated rear wing, all work to maximise the XKR-S GT's aerodynamic downforce. The car was revealed at the New York International Auto Show earlier this year, and has since been undergoing tests on the road and track in the U.S. and Germany.
Being the rarest model in the 25-year history of Jaguar R performance cars, the Jaguar XKR-S GT is the ultimate road-going, track-ready XK coupe and was originally intended for a 30 unit production for the North American market.
