Kia will be competing in the 2023 1000 Miglia Green regularity race with the 577bhp Kia EV6 GT (read our review of the Kia EV6 GT-Line here).
The race will run from 13 to 17 June 2023, starting and finishing in Brescia. It will take a clockwise route around Italy, visiting cities including Ferrara, Cervia, Macerata, Rome, Siena, Parma, Alessandria, and Rome. Kia's EV6 GT will be driven by professional rally driving duo and married couple Jade Paveley and Ross Leach, and competing against other performance focused and premium electric vehicles from various manufacturers during the race.
Kia states that this will mark the first time a Korean car has competed in the footsteps of some of motorsport's most legendary cars and racers, tracing a route that is similar to the one taken by the 1000 Miglia.
Unlike the historic 1,000-mile race, which was driven over a single day and as fast as possible, the 1000 Miglia Green will cover more than 2,000km, which should see the EV6 GT's 77.4kWh battery and 800V charging technology being tested. This distance will be split into five legs, with crews allowed to recharge their vehicles on the way to the beginning of each stage.
