Kia releases Sorento and Cee'd hybrids at Frankfurt Motor Show

The Cee'd hybrid uses a 1.6 litre four-cylinder engine that combines with a small electric motor that produces 15kW and 150Nm of torque. The electric motor is powered by a "Li-Poly 180 volt, 5.3Ah power pack", which is located in the boot.

Mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and engine stop-start system, this allows the Cee'd hybrid to go from 0-100km/h in 11.8 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 185km/h, while being extremely low on emissions.

The Sorento hybrid meanwhile, uses a 30kW electric motor along with its 1.6 litre turbo-diesel engine that produces around 163bhp, and comes with a dual clutch automatic transmission.

Both cars also have mild styling upgrades, like Kia's new family grille, aerodynamic body kits, and body-coloured door mirrors with turn signals integrated into them.
