As part of the commemorative activities dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Land Rover, the Russian team has embarked on an incredible round the world challenge, 'Around the world in 70 days', which commenced in Moscow on 7th June 2018.
Led by Russian blogger and traveller, Sergey Dolya, he and his team will cross the globe behind the wheels of two Land Rover Discoverys in a bid to beat the world record of renowned Jules Vernes who completed it in 80 days.
In total, the challenge will see them driving through 21 countries across six continents - Europe, Asia, Australia, Northern and Southern America and Africa. The journey will end exactly 70 days later back in Moscow on 15th August.
34 days and 6 countries later, Sergey and his team entered Singapore's borders on 12th July, they enjoyed the luxury of space and comfort of the Discovery as they travelled more than 350km from the Malayan archipelago to this sunny island.
The Russian team was warmly welcomed by Land Rover Singapore with a mini convoy consisting of the Discovery Sport, Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport and four Defenders from Land Rover Owners Singapore. The convoy gathered at Robertson Quay Hotel, before navigating through the interlace of Singapore's roads.
The journey culminated at Marina Barrage with a group photo as memorabilia for the Russians' brief but meaningful time here. It was also the perfect way to bid the Russian team farewell as they embarked on the next leg of their journey towards the Australian continent.
