The LFA is the first supercar developed by Lexus, and is powered by a 4.8-litre V10 engine that produces 552bhp. This enables the LFA to rocket from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds, on to a top speed of 325km/h. The LFA also comes with a six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG) with four modes, Auto, Sport, Normal and Wet.
The LFA is carefully crafted by a team of dedicated engineers, led by Haruhiko Tanahashi, and features a whole host of innovative technology. To keep weight low, the body of the LFA was made from Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), which ensures that the LFA weighs in at just 1480kg.
Further weight-saving was achieved through the utilisation of Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) disc brakes, which is approximately 5kg lighter than equivalent disc brakes made from iron. Carbon Ceramic brakes also provide a longer service life as they are less susceptible to fade and wear.
Finally, the LFA's active rear wing has been designed to be deployed at speeds above 80km/h, shifting the centre of pressure towards the rear of the car and increasing high-speed stability. Working together with the flat under-body and CFRP rear diffuser, this ensures that the LFA remains stable at high speeds, for the best handling experience.
