Lotus reveals the Evora 414E Hybrid at Geneva

Being a full hybrid model, the Evora is powered by two electric motors that produce 204bhp each, and 400Nm of torque. This allows the Evora 414E Hybrid to sprint from 0-100km/h in under 4 seconds. The hybrid set-up also consists of a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Lotus Range Extender engine with 47bhp that is used to recharge the batteries and provide an extended range. This gives the Evora 414E Hybrid a range of 480km, with a range of 56km running on a fully-charged battery pack alone.

The Evora 414E Hybrid has a 7-speed transmission and two drive settings, Eco and Sport. The car showcased at Geneva is also painted in a copper colour, alluding to its electronic theme. Cooper is also used in the instrument panel, seat covers and brake callipers, and the interior also features a leather and Alcantara finish.

Lotus has equipped the Evora 414E Hybrid with a HALOsonic sound system, which artificially generates the sounds of a petrol engine and emits them from speakers at the front and rear of the car. This is primarily a safety feature, to allow pedestrians to hear the car as it approaches, due to the lack of noise electric cars emit.
