The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will extend the existing Circle Line to improve East-West connectivity between the Central East and Central West areas. Titled Circle Line Stage 6 (CCL6), the 4km line connects the HarbourFront station to Marina Bay station - 'completing' the circle in the process.
From 2025, commuters will enjoy a direct route between key employment areas in the Central Business District, upcoming developments in the Marina Bay area, and retail and office centres in the HarbourFront area via the CCL6.
To facilitate construction work, the Government will acquire a part of land at PSA Corporation's Keppel Terminal. The affected buildings in the land pocket include a one-storey port facility and part of the internal circulation road. The affected land has been gazetted by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) today.
LTA announced in a press statement that it is amidst the process of conducting the architectural and engineering studies, and will announce the alignment of the line when it has been finalised.
