The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a statement yesterday that bus services have improved. Frequencies of buses are now one to five minutes better than before and buses are less congested.
Giving an update on the ongoing Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), LTA stated that 339 of the 550 buses funded by the Government have been put into service. These buses are used to introduce 18 new routes, as well as to enhance 125 existing ones.
The authority also gave an example of service 195, which used to arrive every 10 to 13 minutes previously. Now, the service arrives at bus stops every eight to 12 minutes.
The first private-run feeder bus service was also launched yesterday. Service 912P will ply roads in Woodlands and overlay the busiest stretches of feeder service 912. The new service will only run in the morning and evening peak hours, with up to 11 trips in each period.
