The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be installing CCTV cameras at 60 more locations across the island, reported The Straits Times.
This is on top of the 40 that will be switched on next week, and 30 that have been in operation since last April. When up and running by mid-2017, the CCTV cameras will help the authority clamp down on illegal parking at a total of 130 locations.
The LTA said it has observed smoother traffic and less obstruction at spots where the first 30 closed-circuit TV cameras have been in operation. These include Beach Road, Bishan, Pasir Panjang Road and River Valley Road.
