Maserati has announced a collaboration with technology and audio partners Politecnico di Milano (Italy's leading scientific and technological university), the Italian Association of the Automotive Industry (ANFIA), and Sonus faber with the MC20 Cielo and Grecale SUV at CES 2025, which runs from 7 January 2025 to 10 January 2025, in Las Vegas.
In addition, Maserati's ongoing partnership with the university continues with the unveiling of a unique MC20 Cielo, featuring an AI driver as part of the Artificial Intelligence Driving Autonomous (AIDA) project - led by Politecnico di Milano and MOST (the National Centre for Sustainable Mobility) - which is focused on testing and validating autonomous driving on public roads. The project aims to develop reliable technology capable of performing safely and efficiently in real world situations.
This unique sports car represents the second collaboration between Maserati and Politecnico di Milano, with the first being a specialised MC20 Coupe featuring a robo-driver developed by the latter, which set a record by reaching 285km/h on the runway at Piacenza-San Damiano Air Base in Italy, marking the fastest speed ever achieve by an AI-driver production car without human intervention.
At CES 2025, the record-holding MC20 Coupe will serve as the official Safety Car for the event's Autonomous Challenge at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Concurrently, the MC20 Cielo will be displayed in the centre of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). In addition, Sonus faber - Maserati's esteemed audio partner - will showcase new products, technologies, and immersive sound experiences at its booth, as well as featuring two flagship Maserati Grecale SUVs, the Trofeo and Folgore, offering an opportunity to experience its High Premium sound system featured in both vehicles.
