Maserati debuts trio of electric Folgore models in Singapore

They say lightning never strikes the same place twice, but Maserati Singapore may have just worked a miracle on Thursday afternoon (3 April 2025) by bringing three powerful jolts of electricity into its showroom in Leng Kee simultaneously.
Marking the first ever fully electric models in the Italian brand's lineup, the Maserati Grecale Folgore, GranTurismo Folgore, and GranCabrio Folgore have now been officially launched in Singapore.
In Maserati-speak, the term 'Folgore' - the Italian word for 'lightning' - denotes an electric variant of a model; the Grecale, GranTurismo and GranCabrio, for context, had all been made available in Singapore previously with a range of powerful combustion engines, but have now been extended to buyers seeking them out in all-electric form.
With the Grecale having broken ground already as Maserati's first compact SUV, its availability now in Folgore form brings the brand into uncharted territory yet again as it marks Modena's first ever fully electric SUV.
Targeted at customers who "enjoy electrification but do not want to forgo performance in pure Maserati style", the Grecale Folgore is propelled by twin electric motors that send a whopping total of 550bhp and 820Nm of torque to all four wheels. The sheer amount of power enables the SUV to zip to 100km/h from rest in just 4.1 seconds despite tipping the scales at approximately 2.5 tonnes unladen.
Powered by a large 105kWh battery, the Grecale Folgore also boasts an impressive WLTP-rated range of up to 500km, which should give drivers peace of mind to go the distance (and in comfort too, given that air suspension is standard). Furthermore, its 400V electric architecture allows it to support DC charging at up to 150kW, which can see its battery recharged from 20 to 80% in just 29 minutes.
Specific Folgore accents include a uniquely finished grille, and lettering and badges all over the car finished in dark copper
To distinguish the Grecale Folgore from the GT and Modena variants, you'll want to pay closer attention to its special Folgore grille, which has gloss black inserts against a silk black base. The sight of copper - applied to its badges and brake calipers - is another tell. And in tandem, the Grecale Folgore's interior also gets Folgore embossed patterns on its dashboard.
The electric SUV otherwise retains the luxury, digitalisation and space already found on its combustion-powered brethren - with a digital driver's display, 12.3-inch central touchscreen cockpit and an additional 8.8-inch 'Comfort Display' below for configuring a variety of functions. Its boot retains a very healthy 535 litres in capacity too - more than sufficient for grocery runs or shopping trips to ION Orchard.
The Grecale Folgore retains all the modernity and practicality of its combustion-powered brethren - albeit in fully electric form
True to its powertrain, however, the Grecale Folgore comes with a 'MAX RANGE' driving mode on top of the 'GT', 'SPORT' and 'OFFROAD' ones, which limits both the climate control and accelerator pedal response for energy savings.
Drivers keen on pushing the limits of electric performance, however, will likely gravitate to the GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore twins, which mark the most powerful variants in their respective lineups - outpacing even the Nettuno V6-powered Trofeos.
The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore are also the firm's first ever fully electric grand tourer and luxury convertible
Like the Grecale Folgore, the GranTurismo Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore set themselves apart from the combustion-powered variants with the same sorts of Folgore accents: A uniquely-finished grille, and the Trident logo, 'Maserati', 'Folgore' and 'GranTurismo'/'GranCabrio' wording all in dark copper and specific splitters.
Their interiors likewise get the gorgeous Folgore treatment in the form of dark copper accents, as well as a similar triple-screen dashboard to one found in the Grecale. True to their performance-oriented nature, however, Maserati states that the layout here is more sports-car like.
The GranTurismo Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore also boast the same sumptuous and digitalised cabin found on the Grecale Folgore
Still, what's likely to be most breathtaking is what lies under the gorgeous sheet metal of both cars.
While most performance EVs draw power from two electric motors, the GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore get a more lethal tri-motor setup instead, comprising one on the front axle and an additional two at the rear, which give them torque vectoring capabilities. (This means that torque can be directed independently to each rear wheel.)
Jointly, the three motors also put out a neck-snapping total of 751bhp and 1,350Nm of torque, allowing the GranTurismo Folgore to silently demolish the century sprint in a scant 2.7 seconds, and the GranCabrio Folgore to hit the same mark in 2.8 seconds (it weighs just 80kg more). The twins should be able to give their drivers immense confidence to shed speed too, since they get six-piston Brembo fixed brake callipers up front, and four-piston ones at the rear wheels.
Three electric motors give the GranTurismo Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore a whopping 715bhp and 1,350Nm of torque. The cars' 800V architecture also supports rapid DC charging at up to 270kW
The electric grand tourer and convertible also draw energy from the same 92.5kWh battery that gives them up to 455km and 447km of driving range respectively. However, because they ride on a more powerful 800V architecture (compared to the Grecale Folgore's 400V one), they support DC charging at a significantly higher maximum rate of 270kW, which can see the battery's state-of-charge go from 20 to 80% in just 18 minutes.
Naturally, however, the GranCabrio Folgore should stand out slightly further than its hard-top twin with its open-air elegance.
The GranCabrio Folgore's fabric roof can be folded away in just 14 seconds, and at speeds of up to 50km/h
Dubbed the world's first luxury electric convertible (it's certainly the first of its kind here in Singapore), it features a fabric roof that can be operated at speeds of up to 50km/h, and takes just 14 seconds to open. On days where the air is a little more chilly, the front occupants can even look forward to staying warm and comfy still thanks to a standard three-speed neck warmer that cloaks them in warm air directly from the car's seats.
