McLaren 750S joins 200mph club at its North American debut

The McLaren 750S Spider has made its North American debut and joined the '200mph club' while doing so.

The car broke the milestone speed on a 5.1km stretch of closed state highway in Idaho, U.S.A, with Formula One Driver Stefan Johansson behind the wheel.

The record was set alongside a bevy of customers, many of whom also managed to reach speeds in excess of 200mph as part of the Sun Valley Tour de Force, an event organised to benefit non-profit charities in the local area.

The McLaren 750S is the lightest and most powerful series-production McLaren, equipped with a 740bhp V8 that allows it to reach 100km/h in 2.8 seconds. McLaren states that first customer deliveries will commence in late 2023, although the allocation of U.S.A cars has been sold out deep into 2024.
