Not wanting to be outdone by Aston Martin's recent election of Bowers & Wilkins as its official audio partner, McLaren has now revealed more of the Bowers & Wilkins audio system that is set to feature in its 750S.
This system includes two 100mm Continuum midrange speakers, one in each door. These speakers (which also feature in the Aston Martin DB12) are said to have been refined over eight years of development, and utilise a composite construction to absorb vibrations that can impair the performance of a conventional drive unit.
The Bowers & Wilkins promises a reproduction of the original recording that other automotive audio systems simply cannot uncover The result, McLaren states, is a more open, neutral performance that reproduces the original recording as faithfully as possible and reveals details in music that conventional automotive audio systems simply cannot uncover.
Supporting these two speakers are five 25mm Nautilus Aluminium Double Dome tweeters, located in the dashboard, A-pillar and in the rear of the new 750S. Each of these features channels that dissipate reflected sound waves that emanate from the rear of the drive unit to deliver cleaner, more natural-sounding high frequencies.
The system also features the premium audio specialist's trademark central Tweeter-on-Top for incredible sound fidelity. The system is completed by three further midrange speakers and two Rohacell bass drivers, giving a total of 12 high-performance speakers. The result is sound that's superbly detailed, with unwanted resonances reduced to a minimum.
The McLaren 750S was available to order from launch at McLaren retailers worldwide.
