Memorial Mercedes-Benz Arocs pays tribute to Poppy Appeal
16 Nov 2024|198 views
As the U.K. pays tribute to its fallen on Armistice Day, one truck operator has created a stunning tribute to both his father and the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal with a specially designed Mercedes-Benz Arocs.
The truck is one of the latest Arocs to join the fleet of Essex-based family firm John A Probert, Sons & Grandsons, and is decorated with fields of poppies along its full length with an airbrushed soldier standing guard on either side of the cab.
For a bit of context, owner Joe Probert's grandfather, Alf, served in the army during the Second World War. Joe's father, John, who set up the business in 1980 and was known to his customers as 'Turfy', was a life-long supporter of charities for ex-service personnel. The Arocs hence bears his nickname and the years of his life (1949 to 2021).
Supplied by Dealer Motus Truck & Van, the 6x2 Arocs 2532 has a ClassicSpace L-cab, dropside bodywork, and a rear-mounted Fassi F155 crane with Kinshofer grab. It is powered by a 7.7-litre six-cylinder engine with an output of 235kW (315bhp).
