The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, the first model in the Mercedes-Benz Mythos series, has celebrated its world premiere at the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Limited to 250 models, its exterior is finished in mystic silver magno and combines a low silhouette, an aerodynamically optimised bonnet, and a shark-nosed low front end. Its boot lid and rear diffuser are also aerodynamically optimised, with its 21-inch forged aluminium wheels sporting carbon fibre covers on the front and rear axle.
The PureSpeed uses the HALO system instead of the conventional A-pillar, protecting the driver's head in accidents. Its roll-over protection system features two rigid roll bars hidden beneath the aerodynamic scoops.
Interior features include heated AMG Performance seats with leather covers, deep-pile AMG floor mats, an AMG Performance steering wheel, and a custom-made analogue clock in the middle of the dashboard. A protective weather cover is available as standard, as well as a PureSpeed specific AMG indoor car cover to protect it from dust and scratches.
Powered by an AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with a maximum power of 577bhp and 800Nm of torque, the car is able to go from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds and offers a top speed of 315km/h. AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL is included in the PureSpeed, allowing optimum steering and load-changing behaviour, with its wide-track rear axle increasing agility.
The AMG high-performance ceramic composite braking system comes as standard, offering short braking distances, sensitive responses, and high stability. The six-piston fixed brake callipers at the front and one-piston floating callipers at the rear come in black with white AMG logos.
