The new B-Class has grown overall from the outgoing version, measuring at 4,359mm long, 1,786mm wide and 1,557mm tall. Unlike the new A-Class, the latest version of the B-Class continues to use the outgoing model's modular sandwich floor.
Inside, the B-Class’ rear seat backrest can be divided and folded according to the ratio 60:40 as standard. As an option, there's the “EASY-VARIO-PLUS” system, which allows the rear seats to be positioned differently along the longitudinal axis by up to 140mm.
Engine options for the new B-Class include a new 1.6-litre petrol engine that produces 122bhp and 200Nm of torque when fitted to the B180 model, and 156bhp and 250Nm when fitted to the B200 variant. There will also be two diesel units, both being 1.8-litre turbocharged powerplants that will produce 109bhp and 250Nm of torque in the B180 CDi, and 136bhp and 300Nm of torque in the B200 CDi.
Mercedes-Benz is targeting buyers who are mostly interested in versatility and comfort with the next-generation B-Class, and the mid-sized MPV will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, before going on sale next year.
