The C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series is powered by the same 6.3-litre V8 that is used in the standard C 63 AMG, but the unit has been modified with forged pistons, conrods and crankshaft, a 50% bigger oil cooler and a new ECU by AMG, and now produces 517bhp, 60bhp more than the C63 AMG, and 620Nm of torque.Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch AMG Speedshift transmission, which has four modes and can shift gears in just 100 milliseconds in its fastest mode, which is Sport or Manual. As a result, the C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series is able to rocket from 0-100km/h in just 4.2 seconds. The car also comes with a standard limited-slip differential that is electronically controlled and linked to the ESP stability control system, which itself has three settings and can be completely deactivated.
AMG has also widened the car by 40mm in front and 70mm at the rear, as well as fitted stiffer anti-roll bars along with an adjustable coil-over sports suspension. The brakes consist of 390 mm front and 360 mm rear discs, with six and four-piston callipers respectively. Mercedes-Benz has also kitted out the C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series with a different front bumper with huge air intakes, bloated wheel arches, chunkier side sills and a redesigned rear bumper with quad exhausts.
Inside, the C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series is a two-seater only, although Mercedes-Benz offers the option of two extra rear seats. The car also gets red seat belts, a sport steering wheel covered in Nappa leather and high-gloss black piano inserts on the dashboard along with the Black Series logo. Mercedes-Benz will offer the C63 AMG with two packages, with the Track package featuring special Dunlop tyres and a differential cooler, and the Aerodynamic package coming with carbon fibre aerodynamic aids on the front bumper and a carbon fibre rear spoiler.
