Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets new CGI BlueEfficiency engines

The first new engine is the entry-level 1.8-litre direct injection unit that will be fitted to the C180 CGI BlueEfficiency and C200 CGI BlueEfficiency models. Both cars come with an engine Start/Stop system and a six-speed manual transmission.
In the C180 CGI BlueEfficiency the engine produces 154bhp and 250Nm of torque, which allows it to go from 0-100km/h in 9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 225km/h. For the C200 CGI BlueEfficiency meanwhile, the engine is able to put out 181bhp and 270Nm of torque, allowing for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 8.2 seconds.
The next new addition to the C-Class range is the C220 CDI BlueEfficiency, which features a 2.1-litre diesel engine with 168bhp and 400Nm of torque. This model is also equipped with an engine Start/Stop system and a six-speed manual transmission, and Mercedes-Benz claims that the C220 CDI BlueEfficiency is able to return a fuel consumption figure of 4.4 litres per 100km, making it the most fuel-efficient C-Class ever.
Finally, Mercedes-Benz has also introduced the C250 CDI 4Matic BlueEfficiency, which features all-wheel-drive and a2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 201bhp. The C250 CDI 4Matic BlueEfficiency is able to go from 0-100km/h in 7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 240km/h.
