Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the saloon car that combines lavish luxury and exclusivity to create a vehicle of sheer opulance.
Mercedes-Maybach is a new sub-brand (alongside Mercedes-AMG), that epitomises peerless exclusivity, and will provide discerning customers with vehicles of extreme prestige and exclusivity.
The top-of-the-range S-Class model is the Mercedes-Maybach S600. At its heart is a V12 biturbo engine with 530bhp and 830Nm of torque. The Mercedes-Maybach S500 packs a V8 biturbo engine with 455bhp and 700Nm of torque.
But let's face it, people don't buy this car to drive, they buy this car to be driven in. And Mercedes-Maybach recognises this. In the rear, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is the quietest production saloon car in the world. Passengers are enveloped in lounge-style, modern luxury, with exclusive nappa leather upholstery featuring embossed Maybach crests, an IWC design analogue clock in the dashboard, among a whole swathe of luxurious equipment and detailing. And the car is longer in the rear as well, with an extended 200mm wheelbase.
Also included is the exclusive Maybach perfume AGARWOOD for fragrancing as part of the AIR-BALANCE package, voice amplification, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, a panoramic sunroof and sunblinds for the rear doors. An optional extra includes two high-quality, handcrafted champagne flutes, made by the same people who supply dozens of Michelin star restaurants. Definitely a box to be ticked on the options sheet.
