Mercedes-Benz launches the SLS AMG Desert Gold and G55 AMG Edition 79 in Dubai

The SLS AMG Desert Gold has a striking matt gold paintjob, and features gloss black accents, and black AMG wheels which measure 9.5 x 19 at the front and 11.0 x 20 at the rear. Inside, the Desert Gold boasts sports seats, a solid carbon-fibre centre console, and various other carbon fibre accents.

Under the hood, the SLS AMG Desert Gold is the same as the standard SLS AMG, with a 6.3-litre V8 engine producing 563bhp and 650Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds, on to a top speed of 317km/h.

Mercedes-Benz says that while it will not put the Gold Edition into mass production, the features on the show car will be made available if there is sufficient demand, as an individual optional extra from the AMG Performance Studio.

Meanwhile, the G55 AMG Edition 79 will go into limited production, and sold exclusively in the Middle East. The Edition 79 is named after the year the current G-Class went into production, 1979, and will be limited to just 79 units.

Special features on the G55 AMG Edition 79 include a matt "designo magno alanite grey" paint job, a font crash bar, 19-inch AMG wheels, and chrome accents, while the interior features two-tone black and sand designo leather seats, carbon-fibre trim, and an individually numbered Edition 79 badge.
