Mercedes-Benz Singapore has presented its latest lineup of fully electric commercial vehicles: The eCitan, eVito, and eSprinter, in a special event at its Mercedes-Benz Centre along Alexandra Road.
Marcel Luis Mustelier Perez, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Singapore, said that this lineup demonstrates the brand's commitment to accelerating electric mobility in Singapore and is tailored to the unique operational needs of businesses.
Let's talk about the eCitan first. It's a fully electric panel van with an electric motor that offers an output of 90kW (121bhp) and 245Nm of torque, contributing to a top speed of 132km/h. As well as having a WLTP range of 300km, its 45kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 38 minutes courtesy of its 75kW DC charger. The eCitan has up to 4,200-litres of loading capacity and a payload of up to 690kg.
Customers can also choose between the Comfort and ECO (range-optimised) drive programs and three recuperation levels (D-, D, and D+). Additionally, safety systems remain a mainstay, with the eCitan being equipped with the usual Anti-locking Brake System and Electronic Stability Program, as well as Hill Start Assist, Highbeam Assist, and Cruise Control, among others.
Moving on to the eVito, the medium-sized van features a distinctive new front design with adaptive LED headlights. Equipped with a 60kWh battery, it has a WLTP range of up to 327km, and is propelled by a single electric motor with a peak output of 85kW (114bhp) and 360Nm of torque, allowing for a top speed of 120km/h.
Further new features in the eVito include the KEYLESS start function, as well as being equipped with an electric parking brake for the first time. Its driver assistance systems also offer even more support in all situations. For example, Active Brake Assist now includes the intersection function and warns of oncoming vehicles and dangerous overtaking manoeuvres.
Rounding up the trio is the eSprinter. It is offered with three battery options: A 56kWh, 81kWh (standard), and 113kWh pack, with the standard option offering a WLTP range of up to 267km. Two motor options are also available: 100kW (134bhp) and 150kW (201bhp), with both offering 400Nm of torque and the latter delivering a top speed of 120km/h.
The eSprinter also comes with three different drive modes: Comfort, which delivers the full complement of performance and torque; Economic, which limits engine power for more efficiency; and Maximum Range, which further reduces engine output and features such as climate control to optimise range to a maximum.
Furthermore, both the eVito and eSprinter can be configured in a variety of body combinations to suit different business needs.
At fast charging stations, the new eSprinter can be charged at to 115kW at fast charging stations, with which its 81kWh battery can go from 10% to 80% in around 34 minutes.
Mercedes-Benz has said that the eCitan, eVito, and eSprinter are set to revolutionise urban logistics and delivery services, providing a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional vehicles.
