Mercedes-Benz presents Michael Schumacher in Singapore

The event marked the first time that the seven-time Formula One World Champion was making a public appearance in Singapore, ahead of the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix. The session was held at the atrium of Paragon Shopping Centre, and Schumacher took time off from his busy schedule to meet and greet members of the media and public.

Schumacher also fielded questions about his thoughts about the night race, his work with the Mercedes GP team, as well as Singapore itself, and the German said, "I really enjoyed my first experience of Formula One night racing in Singapore last year and it was an interesting weekend to be working on such a different time schedule."

When asked to share what the greatest challenge is of night racing, compared to racing during the day, Schumacher said, "'Challenge' is probably the wrong word. It is more the sensation and the emotion, because such a great job has been done in terms of lighting up the track, and it's very easy to see everything. It's the sensation of driving at night with the lights and the atmosphere and spectators. Last year, we enjoyed it (the race) and I'm certainly looking forward to it again."
