Under the bonnet, the SLK 55 AMG is powered by a 5.5-litre naturally-aspirated AMG V8 engine that produces 422bhp and 540Nm of torque, 62bhp and 30Nm more than the previous SLK 55 AMG. The aluminum V8 engine also features the AMG Cylinder Management system that can shut off four-cylinders from 800 to 3,600 rpm to improve fuel efficiency.
The performance roadster comes with a seven-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission with three modes, sport, manual and efficiency, and the car is capable of rocketing from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds, reaching its electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h.
The SLK 55 AMG has been beefed up, with its new AMG body kit featuring bespoke parts in front and at the rear, along with a smoked out lights and larger set of light alloy wheels finished in black. The interior has been decked out in stitched leather, and comes with a pair of sports seats.
