Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG official pictures released

The SLS AMG will be powered by a 6.3-litre V8 engine that is commonly seen on other AMG products, and the front/mid-mounted engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to send all of the 563bhp to the rear wheels.

Mercedes-Benz claims that the SLS AMG will be able to go from 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 317km/h. Optional carbon ceramic brakes will bring the nearly 1.6 tonne car to an impressive halt.

The SLS AMG takes its styling cues from the legendary 300SL 'Gullwing’ of the 1950s, with its upright fascia, drawn headlamps and curvaceous rump. Four colours are available; Alubeam Silver, Syvanite Grey, Alanite Grey and red, while there will also be a leather and alcantara interior and ten-spoke forged wheels.
