Mercedes-Benz unveils the E-Class Long Wheelbase

The E-Class Long Wheelbase has been lengthened by 140mm for added leg room for the rear passengers, and the car now measures 5008mm long, with a wheelbase of 3014mm. Two models of the E-Class LWB is available, the E300L and the E360L CGI.

Among the features on the E-Class Long Wheelbase include increased ground clearance, a 540 litre capacity boot, Mercedes-Benz's Agility Control suspension system and PRE-SAFE technology, a sleep alert system, as well as front seats that can be controlled by rear passengers.

Mercedes-Benz launched the E-Class LWB due to the growing demand of such models in the Chinese market, and the Stuttgart-based carmaker has seen sales increase by 112% in the first quarter of this year alone. The E300L will be manufactured locally by Beijing Benz Automotive Corporation, a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Company (BAIC).
