Mercedes-Maybach builds limited edition S-Class in honour of Virgil Abloh

Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled the special edition Mercedes‑Maybach S‑Class by Virgil Abloh, in homage to the late polymath artist, architect, creative director, fashion designer and philanthropist Virgil Abloh.

The limited edition Maybach S680 features a unique two-tone colour combination, as per the Project Maybach. The upper section of the vehicle is lacquered in a glossy obsidian black, while its lower sections, side flanks and special forged rims are painted in a sand hue.

The highest levels of craftsmanship continue into the vehicle's interior, also sporting the two-tone colour scheme.

Here, the steering wheel, doors, lower dashboard and ceiling are lined in black and sand coloured nappa leather, complete with sand coloured deecor trims and strips. The highpile floormats are black with a sand-coloured leather border and embroidered Mercedes‑Maybach logo.

The Mercedes‑Maybach S‑Class by Virgil Abloh also sports special Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logos, inscribed on the piano black middle of the centre-console, rear cushions, head restraints and door sill panel.

And to top off the unique touches on the car is a bespoke user interface on the MBUX system, which gets a special home button with coloured border and brand logo denoting the limited edition status of the car, alongside profile pictures decorated with luxurious fashion accessories.

All customers of the Mercedes‑Maybach S‑Class by Virgil Abloh will be given a special custom-made wooden box covered in sand coloured nappa leather emblazoned with the Mercedes‑Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo.

The gift box contains a 1/18 scale replica of the limited edition car, the two car keys and a carabiner hook. The car will also come with its own special car cover featuring the Mercedes‑Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo.
