MG has revealed an updated MG5 EV for Europe.
With a generous 479 litres of luggage space that can be expanded to nearly 1,400 litres with the rear seats folded down, the MG5 Electric offers those looking for both the practicality of a stationwagon with the clean motoring of an electric vehicle.
Like the Marvel R Electric and ZS EV, the new MG5 Electric is now offered with the MG iSMART connectivity system, which offers increased connectivity via smartphone app as standard. Said infotainment system will be accessed through an enlarged central infotainment screen.
The front wheels of the MG5 EV are driven by an electric motor which produces 154bhp and 260Nm of torque.
As with the current car, the new MG5 Electric is being initially offered with a 61.1kWh battery and a WLTP tested range of 400km. At a later stage, a version with a 50.3 kWh battery will be offered as well, which provides a WLTP range of 320km.
Both versions of the all-electric station wagon will offer quick a maximum charging speed of 11kW via alternating current.
