MINI reveals new Cooper 5 Door

MINI has revealed the new Cooper 5 Door, after having unveiled the new MINI Cooper Electric in September of 2023 (read our first impressions of the MINI Cooper SE here).
The five-door hatchback measures in at a total of 4,036mm long and 1,744mm wide, placing it 172mm longer than the MINI Cooper 3 Door (For comparison, the Volkswagen Golf measures in at 4,284mm long and 1,789mm wide).
The MINI Cooper 5 Door measures in at a total of 4,036mm long (172mm longer than the MINI Cooper 3 Door) and can be had with a roof finished in a gradual colour gradient
MINI states that these enlarged dimensions ensure that all three passengers will be comfortably accommodated for. Space for luggage from the MINI Cooper 5 Door, meanwhile, measures in at 275 litres, although this can be expanded to a total of 925 litres by folding the rear seats down.
The MINI Cooper 5 Door takes after the design of the MINI Cooper Electric, with its round LED head lights and octagonal front grille, as well as the new taillights that comprise of vertically aligned LED clusters.
The car will be offered in a total of 11 exterior body colours, with the added opportunity to choose from three contrasting roof colours, or to have the roof in a gradual colour gradient.

Four different exterior and four interior trim levels will be offered for the MINI Cooper 5 Door, and as with the MINI Cooper Electric, the Cooper 5 Door will feature a 240mm diameter round OLED display on the centre of its dashboard, which will run on the MINI Operating System 9.
The MINI Cooper 5 Door lineup currently starts with the MINI Cooper C, which gets a 154bhp 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 230Nm of torque and will see the car completing the century sprint in 8.0 seconds.
A MINI Cooper S will also be offered which comes powered by a 201bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine which develops a total of 300Nm of torque and will see the car completing the same sprint in 6.8 seconds.
