The success of the MINI can be attributed to the positive developments at the manufacturing facility since 2001 - from a headcount of 2,400 producing around 300 cars daily, to 4,000 employees - working in three shifts - producing around 1,000 cars a day now.
Last year, MINI produced a total of 303,177 vehicles with 175,986 units rolling out from Plant Oxford. A further 125,559 units of the MINI Countryman and MINI Paceman were contract-manufactured at MSF Graz in Austria and other assembly plants in Asia.
In addition, MINI is proud to report that two million of its iconic cars have been exported out from the U.K. to more than 110 countries over the same period. The U.K. is the automaker's second largest market after the U.S. while 80 percent of the manufactured MINI's in Oxford are exported - making MINI the third largest vehicle exporter in the U.K.
