MINI welcomes latest Cooper 5 Door in Singapore

For the first time in history, MINI has introduced an entirely new five-door variant to its lineup. Locally, the new car will be launched in two guises - MINI Cooper 5 Door and MINI Cooper S 5 Door.

While preserving MINI's signature driving fun, the new MINI 5 Door gains more practicality, particularly in the rear quarters, where there is more foot space, legroom and luggage space.

This is achieved by an increase of 161mm and 11mm in the Cooper 5 Door, in its length and height respectively, over its three-door counterpart . Meanwhile, the Cooper S 5 Door gains 155mm and 72mm in its length and wheelbase over the three-door version.

Under the hood, the Cooper 5 Door gets a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, which has an output of 136bhp and 220Nm of torque. The Cooper S 5 Door, on the other hand, receives a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit with 192bhp and 280Nm of torque for a more spirited drive. This allows the range-topping Cooper S 5 Door to launch from 0 to 100km/h in 6.8 seconds, while the Cooper 5 Door does it in 8.1 seconds.

At press time, the Cooper 5 Door and Cooper S 5 Door retail at $154,300 and $179,300 respectively (including COE).
