New four cylinder engines for Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The first engine is a diesel, the E200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, which features a 2.2 litre turbo diesel producing 136bhp. This enables the executive sedan to go from 0-100km/h in 10.2 seconds, and reach a top speed of 210km/h. Average fuel consumption is quoted by Mercedes-Benz at 5.2 litres per 100km.

The second engine is a 1.8 litre turbocharged petrol, to be fitted to the E200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY. This version produces 185bhp which will send it from 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 232km/h. When combined with the standard six-speed manual gearbox, the E200 CGI will give an average fuel consumption figure of 7.2 litres per 100km.
