Nissan's Le Mans contender is a 'Hero coming home'

As soon as we got a glimpse of Nissan's latest GT-R LM NISMO race car, the Le Mans contender is starred in an inspiring video, which Nissan calls it a 'Hero coming home'.
The Japanese automaker has taken an unconventional approach to fight at the top tier of endurance racing. Unlike its rivals, the GT-R LM NISMO is front-wheel driven, with its engine mounted longitudinally behind the front axle. The rear wheels are driven electrically by the car's flywheel kinetic energy recovery system, which harvests energy from the front axle. At the same time, the system can also send power to the front wheels.
Besides the unusual layout, the GT-R LM NISMO will also have wider front tyres (14-inch front and nine-inch at the rear) to put down the power more effectively. Nissan estimates that the race car will have more than 1250bhp on tap from the engine and electric system combined.
