Norris dominant at uncharacteristically-calm Singapore GP

For the first time since the Singapore GP was added to the Formula One calendar in 2008, there were no yellow flags, no safety car, no crashes, and hardly an incident at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Starting on pole, McLaren driver Lando Norris got a good start and cleanly negotiated Turns 1 and 2, setting the stage for an unimpeded romp to the chequered flag. In the early going of the race, Norris proved that he had undeniable pace, quickly building a significant gap from Red Bull's Max Verstappen in P2.
Despite a couple of brushes with the walls of the street circuit, and a possible issue with his front wing, Norris never gave up his leading position, building up a lead that allowed him to complete his pitstop and emerge still in P1. In the later stages of the race, Norris was even told to "chill out" by his race engineers, speaking to the dominance of his race this Sunday.
Fellow McLaren driver Oscar Piastri started P5, but a good race strategy saw him eventually overtake both Mercedes-AMG drivers. Lewis Hamilton, starting on P3 but on the soft tyres, eventually had to concede positions with his tyres and race strategy slowly but surely disintegrated. He eventually finished P6.
George Russell managed to hold off a charging Charles Leclerc, finishing P4. Sainz, Alonso, Hulkenberg and Perez round out the top 10 in that order. And, in what might be his last-ever go in a Formula 1 seat, Daniel Ricciardo managed to score one point. He pitted with just a couple of laps to go, putting on a fresh set of soft tyres and managed to set the fastest lap of the grand prix.
Throughout the weekend, the orange McLarens proved to have good race pace. With Norris and Piastri finishing on the podium, McLaren managed to extend its lead in the Constructor's Championship to 41 points. Meanwhile, Norris' victory sees him closing the gap to Driver's Championship leader Verstappen to 52 points.
