Oliver Blume to be new Chairman of board of management at Volkswagen Group

Volkswagen AG's supervisory board has appointed Oliver Blume to be the new Chairman of the Group board of management. He will be taking over the position from Herbert Diess with effect as of 1 September 2022 and will still retain his role as Chairman of the board of management of Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche AG.
The previous Chairman, Herbert Diess, was seen as integral to numerous innovative product ideas, initiating redesign of product portfolios and establishing clear focus on electromobility. He is also credited with the new organisational orientation of the VW Group with more independent regions.
As for Oliver Blume who joined the VW Group back in 1994, he has since held management position for the brands Audi, Seat, Volkswagen and Porsche. He has been Chairman of the board of management at Porsche since 2015 and a member of the Group board of management since 208.
He has proven operation and strategic skills in various positions within the group and in several brands, managing Porsche AG in finance and technology with great success for seven years. The supervisory board believes that he is the right person to lead the group to further enhance its customer focus and positioning of brands and products.
